2010 Major League Baseball Awards

Rookies of the Year

• American League: Texas Rangers closer Neftali Feliz, who set a rookie record with 40 saves, snares 20 of 28 first place votes to distance himself from Tigers center fielder Austin Jackson.
• National League: San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, who hit for power and average and managed the NL's best pitching staff, also received 20 first-place votes and topped Jason Heyward of the Braves.

Managers of the Year

• American League: The Minnesota Twins' Ron Gardenhire, five times a runner-up for the award, won for the first time, beating out Ron Washington of the Texas Rangers.
• National League: The San Diego Padres' Bud Black, whose team improved by 15 games after being picked to finish in last place, was selected by just one point over Dusty Baker of the Cincinnati Reds.

Cy Young Awards

• American League: Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners won with 21 of the 28 first-place votes despite a 13-12 record, the fewest victories for a Cy Young winner all-time. Hernandez received just 2.4 runs per game of support in his starts from the last-place Mariners.

• National League: Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies was the unanimous winner, getting all 32 votes after a season when he won 20 games, one of which was a perfect game. He is the fifth pitcher to win the award in each league.

Most Valuable Player Awards

• American League: Josh Hamilton picked up 22 of the 28 first-place votes, winning his first MVP award after leading the AL in hitting. Detroit's Miguel Cabrera was second.

• National League: First baseman Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds won the award for the first time, getting 31 of the 32 first-place votes. Albert Pujols, a three-time champion who had won in 2008 and 2009, finished second.
